Event Description
Have fun learning how to program games using Python, a popular computer language. During this two-day practical, "hands-on" workshop, you'll learn the basics of programming in Python together with simple game design. Regardless of whether you have any programming experience, you'll have fun learning a lifelong skill that you can use to create computer games and puzzles.

Details
Dates: The workshop will be held over the course of two Saturday mornings. During the first Saturday morning, we'll learn basic Python and create a simple game. During the second Saturday morning, we'll create a more complex game. There will be some homework to complete between the first Saturday and the second Saturday.

Level: Introductory (No Computer Programming Experience Required)

Equipment: You'll need to bring either a laptop, Chromebook, or other similar device. Because you will be programming in text using a web-based Python development tool, you'll need either a laptop or a Chromebook: a smartphone or tablet will not work. No software is needed.

Homework: Some homework is required.

Ages: The workshop is recommended for 8th grade and up.
